For the course:
- The exam-relevant 40-meter skills (see practical video) as well as the basic maneuvers (starting, tacking, gybing, safe sailing, and crossing) on the longboard must be mastered confidently – even in wind speeds of up to 25 knots (approximately 6 Bft.).

For the license:

- Membership in VDWS
- Minimum age: 18 years
Our courses focus on organizing and conducting beginner windsurf lessons. The goal is to guide new windsurfers professionally as they start in the sport and to deliver high-quality lessons efficiently.

To convert your Level 1 Instructor License into a Level 2 License and become authorized to issue VDWS Basic Certificates in your sport, you need to complete an internship at an accredited VDWS internship school.
Here's how to do it quickly and easily!
Our instructor licenses are valid for three years from the year of the course and must be renewed thereafter. The easiest way to renew is by attending a one-day training seminar. This is free for VDWS members, and the license will be extended for another three years. Alternatively, the license can also be renewed by participating in any other event we offer.
