Sailing Instructor Level 3

Level 3 Sailing Instructor Courses are the right choice for all of our Level 2 Instructors who like to take their teaching and own Sailing skills to a higher level. During those courses, we focus on the technique of intermediate and advanced SUP manouvers and how to teach them professionally. 

Level 3 Instructors are Sailing experts with a very high own riding level and a deep understanding for complex movements. Their methodical skills and experience make them the true experts on the beach!

 


For the course:

  • valid VDWS Level 2 Sailing Instructor License
  • valid VDWS membership
  • Advanced Sailing Skills
  • teaching experience

To complete the license:

  • practical exam at the end of the Level 3 Instructor seminar

Methodology and organisation of advanced sailing courses, including sailing in the harness, spinacker and genacker sailing. 

Contents:

  • methodical structure and lesson plan for sailing in the harness
  • Spinacker and Genacker sailing
  • Roll Tack
  • Racing techniques and tactics

Requirements: 

  • VDWS Level 2 Sailing Instructor
  • Harness Sailing

Objectives:

Methodology and organisation of advanced sailing courses, including sailing in the harness, spinacker and genacker sailing.

    • Sail and boat trim
    • Safety
    • Techniques
  • Practical:
    • Harness Sailing
    • Genacker Sailing
    • Sailing in strong winds
    • Race tactics and trainings

Requirements:

  • VDWS Level 2 Sailing Instructor
  • controlled sailing on a dinghy up to 5 bft. 
  • Skiff Experience

Objectives:

Foiling on different boat types as well as teaching others how to foil 

Contents:

  • Theory:
    • Technical requirments and Hydrodynamics 
    • Equipment Overview
    • Pros and Cons regarding foiling
    • Trimming of foil boats
  • Practical:
    • Gear
    • Rigging and transportation of foil boats
    • foiling on different courses
    • foil manouvers
