Windsurf Instructor Level 3 – Advanced Training - Online Seminar

Requirements

• Completed VDWS Windsurf Instructor course

• Experience teaching advanced students

• Participation on both seminar days

If you do not yet have the required skill level, you are still welcome to join.
In this case, your participation counts as a license renewal, not as a Level 3 qualification.

Goal

• After passing the video exam, participants receive the VDWS Instructor Level 3.
  Participation also counts as continuing education for license renewal.

Course Content

• Teaching methods and didactics for advanced lessons

• Use of digital media in teaching

• Lesson planning and organization

• Physics and technique of the foilboard

• Equipment knowledge for teaching

• Analysis of technique and maneuvers

Exam

You can choose one of the following three practical exams. The exam video must be submitted by the second seminar day. More details will be explained on the first day.

1. Advanced Moves

Within 10 minutes:

a) Beachstart, planing in both footstraps, fast tack, and waterstart
b) No-Gos: safety mistakes, not checking for free space

2. Windsurf Foil

Triangle course with three buoys (distance 75–150 m):

• Course: beam reach, upwind, downwind

• Complete within 10 minutes

• Either with tacks and jibes around the outside or a slalom course between two buoys (only tacks or only jibes)

• Maximum two water touches allowed

• Exam ends after passing the first buoy again

3. Wave Basics

Within 10 minutes:

• Safe beachstart in shorebreak

• Controlled passing through whitewater waves

• Controlled tack or jibe on a waveboard

• Controlled wave ride (optional: bottom turn)

• No-Gos: falling in shorebreak, unsafe behavior

Important Notes

• Minimum of 4 participants required

• VDWS may cancel or change the event for organizational reasons

• Full participation on both days is required
