Rescue Seminar Hvide Sande
The goal of the workshop:
After the workshop, participants will receive a certificate of participation, which serves as proof of qualification for the rescue swimming certificate required as part of the VDWS instructor training. This is not an official lifeguard certification. For already licensed VDWS instructors, participation counts as a license renewal.
Course Content:
Through realistic scenarios and practical sessions, participants will acquire practical skills and theoretical knowledge to act correctly as a first responder in a water emergency. Topics include: approach/recovery/transport/storage of victims (swimming/with a board/with a motorboat), procedures for various victim conditions (fractures/cramps/hypothermia/heatstroke/unconsciousness, etc.), communication, coordination, self-assessment, and risk management in emergencies.
Examination:
All exams will be conducted in open water whenever possible, without aids, and using physical strength alone.
Exam I - RUN-SWIM-RUN: Within a time limit of 11 minutes, participants must complete the following distances: 200m run, 200m swim, 200m run.
Exam II - POLOCRAWL: 50m polocrawl (freestyle with the head above water) must be completed in 50 seconds.
Both exam parts must be passed to qualify for certification. The level of difficulty suggests active preparation.

VDWS reserves the right to cancel the event for organizational reasons. The minimum number of participants is 6.
Equipment:
Participants should bring a wetsuit, shoes, and warm weather-appropriate clothing for both land and water. Shoes are mandatory due to shells (neoprene shoes required!)
