Seminar Wingfoil Soma Bay

Prerequisites: 
Completed VDWS Level 2 Instructor

For the exam: Experience in wingfoiling.
Without experience in wingfoiling, passing the exam is unlikely.

Target:
Upon passing the exam, the participant will receive the VDWS Wing Level 2 licence. Participation in the seminar is recognised as a further training for licence renewal. 

Course contents: 
Determining the target group/pre-requisites for wingfoiling / equipment / working out a series of exercises / drawing up a lesson plan / practice on the water: getting started, turning, jibe, going upwind on a SUP/windsurfing board. Take Off, Touch Down. Safety: falling, way back without wind / what to watch out for / latest news from the association.

Exam:
I Theory: Online examination. Independent study of the contents as well as taking the exam in the VDWS eLearning. The link will be sent after receipt of the registration. The theory exam/online exam must be completed and passed for the licence to be issued. Working through the eLearning prior to the practical workshop is a prerequisite.
II Longboard Exam: Two buoys set on beam reach, approximately 40m apart, need to be circumnavigated twice in a figure-eight pattern each. The first figure-eight is initiated from the leeward side, followed by rounding the buoys with a tack each time. The second figure-eight is initiated from the windward side, followed by rounding the buoys with a jibe each time. The conclusion of each figure-eight should involve stopping after the second buoy maneuver at the opposite buoy.
III Foil Exam: A triangle course which includes downwind, reach and wind abeam. A jibe must be done foiling. The direction in which the start is made is chosen freely, so that everyone can do the jibe in the 
favourite direction.
